Announcement: January 27th, 2001

If anyone missed it - we had a bit of a weirdity happen today.

Somewhere, between @Home's email server, and the RHUA's smtp daemon, a message kept being forwarded ... over and over and over... causing a flood of duplicate messages on the discussion mailing list.

It might have been our mailing list server resending the message - OR - it might have been @Home's mail server that forgot it already sent that message (Hmmm... @home never has email problems... couldn't be that, could it? :-)
All I know is that it wasn't fun trying to stop it.

I don't believe this was any user generated attack - I think this was more a technical fluke than anything else.

On behalf of the RHUA senior members, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
