Interesting article in the UK's The Guardian ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/online/news/0,12597,1121103,00.html )describing a commmunity, tired of waiting for broadband and so decided to create a co-op to service themselves. This threat caused British Telecom (the would-be DSL supplier) to freak and suddenly offer the service, but it was too late for many.
The members have a choice of wired or wireless service, the membership is growing and the service is cheaper than what BT can offer.

Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?

Say if a condo board or tenants in an apartment block got together and created a service not dependant on the 'usual suspects'...

Or maybe the Greater Cabbagetown Broadband Co-op?
